Car vs. semi with HAZMAT incident

Sunday afternoon a car ran a stop sign on Sleydon Lane in Turvile and struck an oncoming tractor trailer. Both drivers escaped relatively uninjured but the car burst into flames. It also managed to puncture the tank upon impact releasing an unknown substance.

West Metro responded with an engine and a HAZMAT unit
Masoma County responded with their all terrain special response unit
Firelands Port Authority Harbor Patrol provided traffic control
New Horizons Airport ARFF Duty crew responded an engine

House fire on Sleydon Lane in Turvile

Units responded to a reported structure fire Sunday evening. Upon arrival heavy flames could be seen. The fire had already broken through the roof.

A tornado touches off a house fire in Turvile

Uprooted trees and downed power lines hampered immediate response to the house fire. Roads had to be cleared in order to access the fire scene.
