Airplane crash at Turvile

Sat. July 18, 2015:
New Horizons Airport air traffic control reported an aircraft declaring an emergency. The Firelands Port Authority Harbor Patrol was dispatched to stand at the ready along with the Firelands Rural Fire District. Shortly after being notified to stand by Harbor Patrol officers reported heavy flames showing from Turvile near Sunset Stables.

Firelands RFD units responded to a bomb threat which resulted in an explosion at Sunset Stables today.

Car vs. semi with HAZMAT incident

Sunday afternoon a car ran a stop sign on Sleydon Lane in Turvile and struck an oncoming tractor trailer. Both drivers escaped relatively uninjured but the car burst into flames. It also managed to puncture the tank upon impact releasing an unknown substance.

Masoma County responded with their all terrain special response unit
Firelands Port Authority Harbor Patrol provided traffic control

House fire on Sleydon Lane in Turvile

Units responded to a reported structure fire Sunday evening. Upon arrival heavy flames could be seen. The fire had already broken through the roof.
